Is to focus on the “the number” too much.
They get an offer, and then quickly flip to the final page to see what “the number” is.
So what’s the problem with this?
Well I see two problems:
“The number” is not the whole picture.
AND
Most people tend to gravitate towards more and imagine, or desire, a much larger number than is reasonable.
That combines to create confusion and disappointment.
On the one hand, there’s a lot more to your offer than just “the number” …
And on the other hand, I think it’s very helpful BEFORE getting any kind of offer to get a solid understanding of the value of your business, so you can go in with reasonable expectations.
After all, you can’t control their offer. But you can adjust your own perspective.
